Privacy Policy

The short version

Clerk is operated by Hazil Studios. We collect the minimum data needed to run the service: the email you sign up with, the data on the Shopify stores you authorize us to access, and the records of every change we make on your behalf. We never sell your data. We never train AI on your data. You can delete everything at any time by emailing us.

Who we are

What we collect

• Account data: your email address (from magic link sign-in or Google OAuth), your name if you provide it, and a record of which Shopify stores you have authorized.
• Shopify store data: when you install Clerk in your Shopify store, we read products, pages, themes, scan results, and other store data needed to find and apply improvements. We only read what is required to do the work you ask for.
• Change history: for every change we make to your store, we record what was changed, when, and the original state, so you can roll back any change with one click.
• Operational logs: request timing, errors, and other technical data needed to run the service securely.

How we use it

• To run the Clerk service — find issues on your store, generate fixes, apply changes you approve, and report results.
• To keep records you can audit or roll back.
• To communicate with you about your account (sign-in links, status updates, support replies).
• To improve the service. Aggregated, non-personal usage data only.

We do notuse your data, or your customers' data, to train AI or machine learning models. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers we need to operate Clerk:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Vercel — web hosting.
• Fly.io — per-merchant compute workers.
• Anthropic — Claude API for AI reasoning. Inputs are not retained or used for training under our enterprise terms.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Shopify — for the work you authorize on your store.

We do not share your data with anyone else unless you explicitly ask us to (e.g., to integrate with another tool you use) or we are required to by law.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data and change history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete everything within 30 days, except where we need to retain something for legal reasons (e.g., billing records under tax law).

Your rights

You can ask us to export, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing florian@hazil.studio. We respond within seven days.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change how we handle your data, we will email you before the change takes effect. The current version is always at this URL with the "last updated" date above.
