Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 May 2026
The short version
By using Clerk you authorize us to make changes to your Shopify store on your behalf, with your explicit approval for each change. You can stop using Clerk and roll back any change at any time. We do our best to make every change correctly, but you remain responsible for what ultimately goes live on your store.
Who we are
Clerk is operated by Hazil Studios. Contact: florian@hazil.studio.
Your account
You need a Clerk account to use the service. You are responsible for the security of the email address and any third-party login (Google, Shopify) you use to access your account.
What Clerk does
Clerk scans your Shopify store, finds issues that may be costing you sales, drafts fixes, and — with your approval — applies them. Every change is recorded and reversible.
Your responsibilities
- Authorize Clerk only on stores you own or are permitted to manage.
- Review fixes before approving them. We surface previews for every change, but you retain final say.
- Comply with Shopify's terms of service and any applicable laws regarding your store and its customers.
Our responsibilities
- We do our best to make every change correctly and reversibly.
- We will tell you in plain English what we are about to do, before we do it.
- We keep an audit trail of every change so you can roll back any of them with one click.
- We will not make changes you have not approved.
Pricing and payment
Some features of Clerk are free. Paid features are billed via the payment provider listed on the pricing page. You can cancel anytime and your store keeps any improvements Clerk has already made.
Termination
You can stop using Clerk and disconnect your store at any time by uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin and emailing us to delete your data. We may suspend an account if it is being used in a way that harms Clerk or other users.
No warranty
We provide Clerk "as is." We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every fix Clerk suggests will improve your store's performance. You are responsible for what ultimately goes live on your store and for keeping your own backups outside of Clerk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of Clerk is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service in the previous twelve months.
Changes to these terms
If we materially change these terms, we will email you before the change takes effect. The current version is always at this URL with the "last updated" date above.
